“Give yourself, your blog, your condition, or some aspect of your health a tagline. Make sure it’s catchy!”
Which one would you like?
“Chronic Badass”? Many chronically afflicted use the term. It rocks. Just like anyone does who pushes to overcome challenges and difficulties.
“Chronically Afflicted”? Because nothing says “[enter crickets chirping, stage left]” faster that repeatedly referring to oneself as “chronically ill.”
Nada. Zip. Zilch.
“Made-for-tv-movie kind’o’life”? Honestly, who could deny that the situations and events that consistently occur throughout my journey through life is nothing short of an entry into the nomination pool for an Academy Award?
Must I remind you of the “Floor Vent Horror of 2011”?!?
Here’s one I should probably use a little more often…one that I think can apply to EVERYone, not just those in the “healthily defunct” category, such as myself.
“Change the game.”
A simple statement with immense possibilities.
Don’t like the hand you’ve been dealt in life? Don’t just draw another card…another representation of all that you wish/dream for…if you keep drawing cards…your deck will empty…then what? What about looking at what you already have?
[enter a phrase about green grass, stage right]
Don’t just try to make up different rules and play cards you don’t have…it just confuses people and alienates you further. Kinda like trying to play Solitaire with an Uno deck.
If you don’t want to play anymore…change the game.
Who says you must conform…who says you must settle?
Not your doctors…not your friends and sure as shit not your family.
Take your life by the proverbial testicular fortitude and craft your OWN game…
Are previously mown paths easier to travel?
Is a path that you have created for others to follow your lead-by-example extra-ordinary??
Question is, then…what, exactly, is preventing you from making that first play? 😉
