IT’S HOLIDAY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
The countdown to 5 p.m. tonight is going to be loooooooooooooooooooong.
Lupus Interrupted is going on hiatus until August 5th, 2013.
“Why? Aren’t you going to schedule your posts?”
No. I contemplated this for a long time.
2.2 seconds, to be precise.
Because I want to illustrate a very, very important concept.
Sometimes? You *must* not giveth-a-shiteth about the rest of the world’s problems that I know in some small way you personalize and internalize in this bat-shit crazy heavenly blue orb in the cosmos.
For me, this comes with not having to feel like I have to “keep up with the Joneses”…to not feel like I have to “Do this!” or “For the love of all thing sacred, do NOT do THAT!”
I know there are people writing their journeys through chronic illness who hop on over to a “Build a better blog!” site and freak the frak out.
So many rules….so little brain capacity to conceptualize.
COLOUR. A continuation of managing a raging shadow across the wicked expanse of negativity hitchhiking through my neural networks.
A funny thing happened on the way to Colour!!.
People have started to notice.
People have started to like the posts.
Bestest part ever?
People are starting to plaster vivid and colourful images on my social media.
It’s a WIN-WIN.
I’m an equal-opportunity Colour!! contributor. 😉
My oldest will be graduating from his substance abuse residential treatment program the week we return. He stayed strong. He endured. He overcame. Our journey together will see him return to the family that loves him and supports him.
My second son turns 14 this Monday. I am so proud of the challenges that he has overcome in his struggle with behavioural difficulties due to anxiety and lagging skills in coping and emotional control. He has, in fact, made so much progress that I am planning his coming-of-age in the upcoming months.
My older twin continues to amaze me with his ability to be The Animal Whisperer. 😉 In fact, ever since we rescued our blind Cocker Spaniel, he has taken such an empathetic role in her care…he “talks” to her. He “understands” her. My twins have been assessed as being “Language Learning Delayed.” Thing 1 is in the 1st percentile for language and comprehension. You’d never know it.
My younger twin can READ. My daycare girl was helping him “read” a book we’d procured on our recent library outing. I was busily typing up one of my herbalism lessons, when I’d realized that I hadn’t heard her correct him for a couple of pages. “Is he reading that?” I asked. She replied that he was.
Sure enough…there’s my Thing 2, assessed in the 3rd percentile in language/comprehension, READING. IN FRENCH. \m/ You GO, runt of my litter….YOU. GO! \m/
What about my daughter? Any #gladitude there?
And here it is:
Ya. That’s where it’s at.
So, after work today, my husband and I are leaving for a few days of solo camping…reconnecting with each other and the land that we love.
I live more in one day on that land, that I ever could in one year off of it…
Then we’ll come into town and pick up the youngest three to attend an amazing festival filled to the brim with awesomeness and friends and COLOUR!!
This past week I went and ass-parked OUT of my comfort zone. I went and had my hair done.
Not to be confused with “gettin’ m’hair did”…I chose to make a statement.
A statement of what?
Catch you lovely peeps on the flip side… 😉
