NavCan is my emotional BFF. It provides me enlightenment and freedom and no cooking and no cleaning and….
For those not “in the know”…Nav Canada is a conference/ training/ education/ jack-of-all-awesomeness centre. Some of my gal pal scrapbooking divas like to attend during the year (sometimes twice!) to get away, escape the mundane and gather together to work on scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.
It. Is. AWESOME.
This year’s was particularly incredible in that I personally set a world record of 104 greeting cards completed.
I haven’t made 104 greeting cards, in total, in my LIFE. 😀
So, not only did I get the opportunity to connect with old and new friends alike, I was able to put aside, for three glorious days, all that ails my aching soul.
Here’s a bit of what I endeavoured to accomplish:
This is our go-to room. It has windows on two sides (ground level).
I unpacked all of the bling-y Stickles and glitter bottles.
Shit just got real.
First two sets.
I’m attempting to use up
some a lot of my stash that I’m currently hoarding like a badass Viking in my craft room.
“Animal Cookies” papers, CTMH.
One technique I love is to use liquid appliqué.
You squirt some on (I roped it around the “frosting”) and use your heat gun to “puff” up the paint as it dries. If you’re uber-sparkly, sprinkle on some glitter before using the heat gun….
New “restaurant” style dining room. Used to be cafeteria style, but has converted to half-service (drinks) half-buffet. Food was delish and I was easily able to afford my nutritional eating style.
I added a treat or two, for good measure. Gotta have some realism in the “treat-to-me”. 😉
“Caprice” paper line by CTMH.
Some “just in case”-ers.
Gotta. My brain’s a porous as a sieve.
Of course there was going to be some Graphic 45.
“Birdsong”; Stamps by CTMH
Taking a moment to reflect on the privilege of the opportunity to be there…
…and yes, that is my Avengers tissue box.
More Graphic 45 using “A Proper Gentleman” collection.
I was in serious lack of manly card-ery. I used stamps from Stampin’ Up! that were in the Sale-a-bration mini 🙂
This is A.M.
Saturday night is “the night”…the sangria comes out…the stories get flowing…and before you know it you’re researching ancestors across the ocean at 1 a.m.
“Magic Moments” papers from CTMH.
More “just in case”-ers.
You cannot have too many.
“Emporium” by CTMH.
(I may or may not have an abundance of papers from when I was a demonstrator)
And there you have it.
104 greeting cards.
Rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.
