Of Dr. Seuss and Cthulhu…

Day 2: #HAWMC – Quotation Inspiration:

“Find a quote that inspires you (either positively or negatively) and free write about it for 15 minutes.”

Pretty much sums up the past year and a half of my life, really.  Read, read, read….learn, learn, learn….absorb, absor….SQUIRREL!

Honestly, how many of us “chronically afflicted” have to Google the information gained from an appointment?  Further, how many even have to PRE-Google symptoms, medications and news articles for information for queries to ask the physicians who look at them as if they had tentacles sprouting from their malar rash-ed, Prednison-ed moon-faces?!

*ponders if Dr. Seuss had any chronic conditions*

I need to know how to care for myself.

I need my family and friends to understand why I need said care.

I need to know how to care for myself.  No, seriously.  Not a clue.  Feels awkward and uncomfortable and I really don’t like it.

Once we all have the knowledge of why I need said care, we can move forward, together, to come to a mutually benefitting solution wherein everyone’s needs/wants are met.

The more the learning , the more the knowledge, the more awareness is being made.

The simple fact is that it’s far easier to implement self-care for myself if I can understand the why’s and how’s of doing so.

That, in a nutshell, is why I bombard you with as much health-related shit as is humanly possible.

Arming myself with an armoury of knowledge and knowledgeable friends and family will ultimately lend me the support I need to continue to fight through the pain, the joy, the sorrow and the accomplishments…

And, for your viewing pleasure of all things Dr. Seuss…you MUST check out the following link to read DrFaustusAu’s rendition of “The Call of Cthulhu” 😉
