Today was absolutely, without question, a “Me.” day.
Still needing to process…still hidey-hole-ing from most mainstream social media…still needing to soul-heal. My perspective, for what it’s worth, is solidly morphing into a very comfortable understanding of The Everything. I’m okay with that.
Minus eleventy-billion outside. Again. Once all of the younglings were off to school I fandagled myself a mocha-choco-vodka-valium-latte (no, not really…it was French Vanilla), got a fire going…and got my crafting on.
Specifically, I wanted to show you just how much I love card kits. MORE specifically, I wanted to show you the “Cut Above Thank You Card Kit” from CTMH. Of course.
Convenient. Quick. Pre-thought-and-pre-cut-out.
Only requires two of the three brain cells I possess at any given moment.
And, because I love the colour combination of kraft, silver and black.
What makes this card layout extra interesting is that it uses the “White Daisy” pigment ink pad.
“What’s the difference between a dye-based ink pad and a pigment ink pad?”
Glad you asked. Mistakes can be made. Ask me how I know.
Dye-based Ink Pads: great for most types of paper, but not non-porous, photopaper (use StazOn!) or super-absorbent papers, like mulberry; dries quickly; not waterproof, so will bleed if run with other water-soluble products (pens, markers, etc); great for general stamping requirements.
Pigment Ink Pads: thicker, richer, more vibrant ink on a spongy pad; ink dries on the surface of the paper, so take care to let fully dry before touching! Tip – dry set pigment ink with a heat gun…this also makes pigment inks best for embossing powders because they stay wetter, longer…giving you time to apply the powder!
This card kit contains enough to make 10 cards!
Embellish as suggested by the package, or go outside the box and make them your own!

I found my Go, Go SpazzyHands! had a lot of trouble (and made for a lot of cusses) trying to wrap little bows of string, so I improvised and made use of the twine in my own way! I also added little bits of on-hand embellishments to make them oh-so-very much my own.
All in all?
Great treat-to-me #selfcare kind of day.
