Purple Llama Studio: Watercolour Bokeh

I really had wanted to get some crafting done over this past weekend, but, given that Sunday I did a whopping SFA (sweet…f\m/k…all), and by “whopping SFA” I really mean, “I didn’t get out of my pajamas, shower or even put my contact lenses in and pretty sure I ate and went pee but really can’t remember.” because the world was my own little bubble for the day.

Adjusting to new medications sucks bollocks. True story.

Adjusting to three is downright riDONKulous.

But, I really wanted to play around with this technique that I had a “Holy snickerdoodles, Batman!” moment…it’s appearance matches one of the patterned papers in the “Brushed” paper set…and came to mind at this tutorial that came into my inbox from Splitcoaststampers:

Watercolor Bokeh, by Diane Dimich

(SCS Weekly Inkling #454)

I. Love. It.

It’s a FABOOSH way to use the reinkers that sit on my crafting shelf…make your own watercolour paper custom matched to your projects! \m/ #win

I used four colours of reinkers:

Blush

Goldrush

Honey

Sweet Leaf

Colonial White craft pad is a pigment ink, so make sure it’s completely dry before handling. Smudges are cool when actually intended. 😉

The tutorial is really well laid out, and I’d had no problem following along. I look forward to do this technique many times again! \m/

Up close, you can see that I’d stamped the leaf two separate times, and cut them both out. When working with leaf stamps, I particularly like to pinch the ends of the foliage to give it a more dimensional, 3D kind’o’look.

I used Pixie to stamp the “OH SO” and black to overlay the “happy” stamp right on top.

Add some embellishments and, voila! 😀
