I call them “balls”…just cuz I can.
<—–these are mine…all mine.
ALL. MINE.
I made these beauties the other day after seeing a post shared on Facebook by “Live the Smart Way.” I’m not gonna lie, I’ve found the exact same recipe on another website, and I’m not 100% who the credit should go to. Google it, if you must.
So, I’m going to type it out. You can fight out who originally made it amongst yourselves while I stuff my face with these hearty, filling, ROCKIN’ (chocolate-included!) balls (if you’re suddenly reminiscing about a South Park episode…you rock *grin*).
1 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1 cup toasted coconut flakes
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup almond butter or peanut butter
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/3 cup pure maple syrup or honey
1 tsp. vanilla
Blend and roll into balls and serve
1. I do not endorse publishing for your viewing pleasure a recipe wherein I’ve changed the entire structure in order to make it a recipe of something totally different. Nothing pisses me off more than going to a recipe site, reading reviews (because I do want to know if it’s good!)…and finding out that the person REALLY, totally loved it, but changed 1/2 the ingredients and added 5 more.
(o.O) Seriously. #wtf
Thusly, I can tell you that I used almond butter, because that’s what one of the choices were, and I actually friggin’ had some.
I can also tell you that I used honey (organic, actually…go me!).
2. These are tasty as all get out. Even my oldest teenager ate one. True story.
3. I will absolutely make these again.
This morning I had my protein smoothie and two balls (see, if I said, “bites”…you’d think it was literally “two bites”…and it wasn’t…so there…OCD represent!). I was comfortably full until about 11:00 a.m., wherein I ate an apple. Diabetic represent! *fistpumps*
Enjoy.
